War Service:
Battery Quartermaster Sergeant RICHARD ERNEST RIDDLE of 139 Field Regiment , Royal Artillery died on 19 August 1945.

He has no known grave and is remembered on the Rangoon Memorial. The Rangoon Memorial stands in Taukkyan War Cemetery, the largest of the three war cemeteries in Burma. It bears the names of almost 27,000 men of the Commonwealth land forces who died during the campaigns in Burma (now Myanmar) and who have no known grave.

He is remembered on the to the 91 and 139 Field Regiment, Royal Artillery in St Swithun’s church, Hither Green.

He was 33, the son of Ernest and Ada Riddle. He married Mary Crawford of Northwood, Middlesex in Greenwich in the spring of 1942.
