War Service:
Private 9898 ALBERT JOHN RICHARDSON of 1st battalion Duke of Cornwalls Light Infantry was killed in action on 14 September 1914, aged 20. The battalion landed at Le Havre on 15 August 1914.

He has no known grave and is remembered on the La Ferte-sous-Jouarre Memorial.

Location of Memorial:
His name was also commemorated on the war memorial which stood in Monson Road in New Cross.

Details:
He was the son of Mr. W. and Mrs. E. Richardson, of 21, Eckington Gardens, Monson Rd., New Cross.
