Sergeant GEORGE WILLIAM RAYNER of 7th battalion Queen's Own (Royal West Kent Regiment) was killed in action on 12 April 1918, aged 35.

He is buried in Hangard Communal Cemetery near Villers-Brettoneux.

He is remembered on the memorials at the church of St James, Hatcham and at Clifton School, New Cross.

Details:
He was the husband of Elizabeth Rayner, of 54, Clifton Hill, New Cross.
