Second Lieutenant JOHN LINDSAY RAPOPORT of the 6th battalion Rifle Brigade was killed in action on 27 May 1918. At the time of his death he was attached to the 12th battalion.
He has no known grave and is commemorated on the Arras Memorial

He is remembered in the Roll of Honour at Blackheath Proprietary School.

He was the only son of Mr I A Rapoport of Tunbridge Wells.
In 2008 one of his letters to his fiancée Vera Katherine Garratt appeared in the anthology “Love letters of Great Men.” by Ursula Doyle (St Martins Press). Their engagement was announced in The Times of 24 April 1918.
