Private 6345973 ALBERT HARVEY RAPLEY of 5th battalion, Queen's Own Royal West Kent Regiment died on 27 May 1940, aged 23.

From 26–28 May The Queen’s Own brigade, including 5th battalion, held a position facing west along the Hazebrouck Canal to secure the lines of communication with the coast and keep open the road to Dunkirk.

He has no known grave and is commemorated on the Dunkirk Memorial.

Location of Memorial:
He is also remembered on the Sydenham South Suburban Gas Works war memorial.

He was the son of Albert and Emily Rapley and husband of P. R. Rapley, of Forest Hill
