Captain ERNEST STANLEY PROBST of 71 Field Regiment, Royal Artillery died on 11 September 1943, aged 30. According to the London Gazette he was commissioned from OCTU on 18 January 1941.

He is buried in Salerno War Cemetery in Italy.

He is remembered on the memorial to 91 and 139 Field Regiment, Royal Artillery in St Swithun’s church, Hither Green.

Details:
He was the son of Robert Eugene and Ethel Gladys Probst . He married Winifred Maude Townsend of Merton Park, Surrey in the spring of 1936.
