Private T/265706 WALTER JAMES PRIZEMAN of 1st battalion The Queen's (Royal West Surrey Regiment) was killed in action on 14 April 1918. On 14 April the battalion came under heavy and sustained attack but managed to hold its ground despite losing 13 officers and 357 other ranks. Among the 36 dead was Walter Prizeman.

He has no known grave and is commemorated on the Ploegsteert Memorial .

He is remembered on the war memorial in the church of St Mary the Virgin, Lewisham.

He was 19 years old, the son of James and Mary Prizeman, of 59, Farley Rd., Catford
