War Service:
Rifleman 7691 GEORGE LESLIE PRICE , 9th Battalion The London Regiment (Queen Victoria's Rifles) was reported Missing, believed killed on 9 October 1916.

He has no known grave and is commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial to the Missing of the Somme.

Location of Memorial:
He is also remembered on the memorial at the 1st New Cross Scout Group HQ and in the QVR roll of honour in the battalion HQ in Davies Street, W1.

Details:
He was born in 1893, the son of John and Mary Price of 54 Thurston Road, Lewisham. He was educated at Lewisham Bridge School.
He was a member of the 1st New Cross (The Greys) Scout Troop and from his age must have been one of the earliest members of one of the first Troops in the country.
