Prew, George Samuel

War Service:
Private 7687 GEORGE SAMUEL PREW of 3 Field Ambulance, Royal Army Medical Corps was killed in action on 26 September 1916. He was part of the original BEF, landing at Boulogne on 19th August 1914.

He is buried in Bernafay Wood British Cemetery, Montauban.

Location of Memorial:
He is remembered in the Book of Remembrance, St Saviour, Forest Hill.

Details:
He was born in Paddington in the autumn of 1893. He was the eldest son of William Thomas and Eliza Jane Prew, of The Chestnuts, Farleigh Common, Whyteleafe, Surrey. His brother, Edward Horace was killed in action in 1918 while serving with the Royal Horse Artillery.
