War Service:
Rifleman 305168 HAROLD GODWIN POTTER of the 2nd/5th Battalion the London Regiment (London Rifle Brigade) died on 9 September 1917, aged 37.

He has no known grave and is commemorated on the Menin Gate memorial.

Location of Memorial:
He is remembered on the memorial at Lewisham United Reformed Church.

Details:
He was born in the spring of 1880, the son of Frank and Mary Ann Potter, of 125, Oakfield Road, Penge. He married Ethel Annie Jeffery in Croydon in the summer of 1903; they lived at of 150 Wellmeadow Road, Catford.
