Pointer, George Horace


War Service:
Engineer Sub-Lieutenant GEORGE HORACE POINTER Royal Naval Reserve died of illness on 22 February 1919 while serving on HMS Hermione. Hermione was an old cruiser used as HQ ship for motor launches and coastal motor boats from December 1916 until December 1919.

He is buried in Haslar Naval Cemetery, Gosport.

He is also remembered on the memoriasl of the Sydenham, Forest Hill & District Tradesmen’s Benefit Society and those at Haberdashers' Aske's school and the church of St Catherine, Hatcham.

He was the son of Mr. C. B. Pointer of 166, Erlanger Road, New Cross, and husband of Ethel Annie Pointer, of Lansdowne House, Winchelsea Road, Rye.
