Serjeant 966093 JOHN PLEACE of ‘D’ Battery, 303 Brigade, Royal Field Artillery was killed in action on 17 March 1917. He had previously served with the Devonshire Regiment.

He is buried in Karasouli Military Cemetery, Greece.

Location of Memorial:
He is remembered on the memorial to 91 and 139 Field Regiment, Royal Artillery in St Swithun’s church, Hither Green.

Details:
He was the son of George and Mary Pleace, of 2, Sharlands Court, Gold St., Tiverton, Devon. He lived in plassy Road, Catford and gave his occupation as grocer.
