Second Lieutenant BERNARD WILLIAM PIGG of the 10th Battalion of the Worcestershire Regiment died on 3 July 1916, aged 27. He had previously served with the Honourable Artillery Company and went to France with them in September 1914. He later transferred to the newly formed 10th Worcesters and crossed to Le Havre with them on 18 July 1915.

He has no known grave and is commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial to the Missing of the Somme.

He is also remembered on the memorial at Holy Trinity church, Sydenham.

Details:
He was the son of Charles and Alice Maud Pigg, of 12, Lansdown Crescent, Cheltenham. He was born in the autumn of 1888 in Cambridge where he attended the Perse School.
