War Service: Richard Phillips served as a Private with the Army Service Corps Reserve Supply Personnel Depot and his service number was T4/085148. He died on 3rd February 1918, aged 40.

Location of Memorial: He is buried in Brockley cemetery, where his name is recorded on the screen wall listing those whose graves have no headstone.

Details: Richard Phillips was born on 19th February 1879 to Richard and Pheobe Phillips. He was baptised on 12th March 1879 at St Johns Church, Deptford.

He married Henrietta Hollands on 8th April 1901 at St Johns Church, Deptford. They were living in Mill Lane, Deptford. They had five children, Richard Gustavus , Thomas William, Esther Henrietta, Mary and John.

His son Richard Gustavus was killed on 4th September 1918 while serving as a Private with the 13th Battalion Royal Fusiliers (City of London) Regiment.
