Flying Officer (Pilot) STANLEY CLIFTON PENDRED died on 26 August 1940 while serving with 203 Squadron. He was 24.

According to the report of his death in The Times of 23 September 1940 he was commissioned as a pilot Officer on 13 July 1936 and trained at Peterborough. In 1937 he specialised in flying boats and was later appointed to a reconnaissance squadron in Iraq. He was promoted to Flying Officer in February 1939.

He is buried in Asmara War Cemetery in Eritrea.

He is remembered in the Brockley County School Book of Remembrance.

He was the son of Edwin Henry and Charlotte Eliza Pendred, of Sydenham.
