Corporal 12958 CHARLES PEERS of 11th battalion Cheshire Regiment died of bronchitis in Lewisham Military Hospital on 10 January 1919, aged 37. He had been taken prisoner in April 1918 and held in Limburg PoW camp. He was admitted to Lewisham Hospital on 6 January 1919.

He is buried in Rake Lane cemetery, Wallasey.

He is remembered on the Lewisham Military Hospital memorial outside University Hospital Lewisham, and is also remembered on Wallasey parish war war memorial and on the memorial at Wallasey hospital.

Details:
He was the son of the late J. Peers and husband of M. Peers, of 7, Lower St., Wallasey, Cheshire. He enlisted at the age of 30, at which time he gave his occupation as plasterer.
