Private William Parkinson, 2nd Battalion, The Queen’s (Royal West Surrey Regiment), was killed in action on the 16th May 1915, aged 38. He enlisted in Deptford.
He has no known grave and is commemorated on Le Touret Memorial.

Details:
He was the only son of the late George Parkinson and husband of Ellen Parkinson of 148 Sandhurst Road, Catford and the father of Ellen and William Parkinson. Prior to the war he was a self-employed shopkeeper. He was born in Gateshead, he and Ellen were married in 1902 and the children were born in 1903 (Ellen) and 1904 (William).
