Gunner 122874 HENRY CHARLES PANTER of ‘C’ battery, 104 Brigade, Royal Field Artillery was killed in action on 6 July 1917, aged 21.

He is buried in Oxford Road cemetery, Ypres.

Location of Memorial:
His name is remembered on the war memorial at St Dunstan’s College and in the pages of the History of The Old Dunstonian Rugby Football Club.

Details:
He was the only son of Mr. and Mrs. H. T. Panter, of 1, Church Lane, Charlton. He was educated at Fossdene Road Elementary School, Charlton and St Dunstan’s College in Catford, which he attended from 1910-12. On leaving school he worked as a clerk in the London and South Western Bank.
