Battery Sergeant Major GEORGE SAMUEL OSBORN, ‘A’ Battery, 66th Brigade Royal Field Artillery died on 25 February 1917, aged 29.

He has no know grave and is commemorated on the Basra Memorial, Iraq.

The Basra Memorial commemorates more than 40,500 members of the Commonwealth forces who died in the operations in Mesopotamia from the Autumn of 1914 to the end of August 1921 and whose graves are not known

Location of Memorial:
He is remembered on the memorial at St Bartholomew’s church, Sydenham.

Details:
He was the son of Frances Ethel Osborn of 7 Halifax Street, Sydenham, and the late James Osborn.
