Lance Sergeant 630491 WILLIAM H R OLIVER of āCā Company, 2/20th Battalion the London Regiment died on 20 October 1918, aged 20. He enlisted in August 1914 and had served in Salonika and Egypt. While in Salonika he was Mentioned in Despatches.
He is buried and remembered in Quivy Communal Cemetery Extension near Cambrai.

He is also remembered on the war memorials at Brownhill Road Baptist Church and the Bellingham Bowling and Lawn Tennis Club, and on the 20th London Regiment Roll of Honour.
Details:
He was born 26 November 1897, the son of Henry and Lelia Oliver of 102 Arran Road, Catford. His elder brother Norman died on 27 March 1918 while serving with the Imperial Camel Corps. he attended St Olave's Grammar School 1909 - 1913.
