O'Reilly, Nicholas

Dates: 1891-1919

War Service: Nicholas O’Reilly served as a Lieutenant with the Royal Air Force Central Pay Office. He died on 12th April 1919 after a motor cycle accident whilst on duty, aged 27.

Location of Memorial: He is buried in Brockley cemetery, where his name is recorded on the screen wall listing those whose graves have no headstone.

Details: Nicholas O'Reilly was born in Camberwell on 10th September 1891 to John and Mary Elizabeth Reilly. In 1911 he was recorded living at 120 Pepys Road, New Cross with his parents and his siblings; Edmund Daniel, Barnabus Joseph, Genevieve Mary, Margaret Josephine and Catherine Teresa. He was employed as a clerk. He also had another brother, Vincent.

At the time of his death he lived at 120 Pepys Road, New Cross. On his death he left £161 1s 1d to his brothers; Vincent O’Reilly, schoolmaster, and Edmund Daniel O’Reilly, driver.
