War Service:
Second Lieutenant JOHN MCCLURE NORTHAM of 15th battalion London Regiment (Prince of Wales' Own Civil Service Rifles) was killed in action on 15 September 1917. From 1914 –1916 he had served in the ranks in the London Rifle Brigade and first went to France on 14 March 1915. He was commissioned on 26 September 1916.

He has no known grave and is commemorated on the Menin Gate at Ypres

Location of Memorial:
He is also remembered on the memorial at the church of St James, Hatcham.

Details:
He was the son of John Northam, of 27, Vicars Hill, Ladywell and the late Elizabeth Jane Northam. His brother George was killed on 3 May 1915 while serving with the LRB.
