Private IVO NIXON NICHOLLS of 20th battalion London Regiment was killed by a sniper on 30 January 1917. He enlisted on 3 March 1916 and joined the battalion in December of that year.

He is buried and remembered in Railway Dugouts Burial Ground near Ypres.

Location of Memorial:
He is remembered on the war memorial at St Mary’s church, Lewisham and on the 20th London Regiment Roll of Honour

Details: He was the son of Ernest and Sarah Nicholls of Bromley Road. After leaving Roan’s Grammar School he was employed by Merryweathers of Greenwich. He was a chorister and later leader of the choir at St Mary’s church, Lewisham
