Rifleman 591853 CHARLES EDWARD NICHOLLS of ‘C’ Company, 1st/18th Battalion London Regiment (London Irish Rifles) died on 7 April 1917, aged 29.

He has no known grave and is commemorated on the Menin Gate Memorial at Ypres.

Location of Memorial:
He is remembered on the memorial at St Bartholomew’s church, Sydenham.

Details:
He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Joshua Nicholls, of 16, Fransfield Grove, Sydenham, London. He was born in Paddington. He was one of four brothers who served.
