War Service:
Lieutenant FREDERICK ARTHUR NEWMAN of 13th Battalion Royal Fusiliers attached to 37 Trench Mortar Battery died on 31 July 1917, aged 24.
At some stage in his military career he was Mentioned in Dispatches.

He is buried in Pond Farm Cemetery near Messines.

Location of Memorial:
He is remembered on the memorial at Lewisham United Reformed Church.

Details:
He was born in Lewisham in the spring of 1893, the son of Frank B. and Esther Newman.
