Dates:
Autume 1895 to 21 August 1915.

War Service:
Private 5830 ALBERT CHARLES NEW of 1st battalion Royal Munster Fusiliers was killed on 21 August 1915. The battle of Scimitar Hill (Yusufçuk Tepe) [Gallipoli] on 21 August 1915 was intended to clear the Turks from the hills overlooking Suvla Bay. It cost the Munsters 3 officers and 79 other ranks.

He has no known grave and is remembered on the Helles Memorial.

Location of Memorial:
He is also remembered on the war memorial at the church of St Luke, Deptford.

Details:
He was born in Bermondsey in the autumn of 1895.
