Private 6146196 CHARLES FRANK MORTER of the 5th Battalion The Buffs (Royal East Kent Regiment) died on 6 January 1943, aged 22.

He has no known grave and is commemorated on the Medjez-el-Bab Memorial, Tunisia. Among those commemorated on the Medjez-el-Bab memorial are almost 2,000 men of the First Army who died during the operations in Algeria and Tunisia between 8 November 1942 and 19 February 1943 and who have no known graves

He is remembered on the Holy Trinity Church, Sydenham.

Details:
He was the son of Mark and Emma Morter, of Forest Hill.
