Sergeant (Air Gunner) EDWARD HENRY JOHN MORGAN, Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve, was killed in action on 17 June 1944 while serving with 576 Squadron.

His Lancaster UL-K2 took off from RAF Elsham Wolds in Lincolnshire at 2301 on 16 June to bomb Sterkrade. It was shot down by a night fighter some 10km from Arnhem.

He and several other crew members are buried in Arnhem (Moscowa) General Cemetery.

He is remembered on the Sydenham South Suburban Gas Works war memorial.
