Lance Corporal G/55388 GEORGE DEMPSTER MIDWINTER of the 10th (Service) battalion Royal Fusiliers died on 1 July 1917.
He has no known grave and is commemorated on the Menin Gate in Ypres.
Location of Memorial:
He is remembered on the war memorial at the church of St Luke Deptford.
Details:
He was born in Walworth in the summer of 1879 and lived in Deptford. It seems likely that he is the George Dempster Midwinter who married Emma Fitzgerald in St Olave registration district in the summer of 1903.
