Pioneer 352 ROWLAND DRYDEN McGROARTY of the East African Pioneers died of wounds on 7 September 1914, aged 25.

He is buried in Taveta Military Cemetery in Kenya.

Location of Memorial:
He is remembered on the war memorial at Goldsmiths College in New Cross where he worked in the Engineering department.

Details:
He was the son of John J. and Henrietta Jane McGroarty, of South Norwood. He was an Associate Member of the Institute of Chartered Engineers.
