Rifleman CYRIL PRESTON MARSTON died of poison gas wounds in Stationary Hospital 39 in Lille on 5 November 1918, aged 19. He was in charge of the Lewis gun section of 4 platoon, A company 1/18th battalion London Regiment (London Irish Rifles).

He is buried in Lille Southern Cemetery.

Location of Memorial:
He is remembered on the memorial at Christ Church, Forest Hill.

Details:
He was the youngest son of Robert Bright Marston and Fanny Marston, of Surrey Lodge, 160, Denmark Hill. His brother Arthur was killed on 16 July 1916 while serving with the Queen's (Royal West Surrey Regiment).
