Private 4278 CHARLES JAMES MARRIOTT "D" Company, 1st/15th Battalion London Regiment (Prince of Wales' Own Civil Service Rifles) died on 7 October 1916, aged 24.

He has no known grave and is commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial to the Missing of the Somme.

Location of Memorial:
He is remembered on the memorial at St Bartholomew’s church, Sydenham.

Details:
He was born in New Cross, the son of the late William Marriott. In Lewisham in the spring of 1916 he married Amy Gertrude Snow of 38 Venner Road, Sydenham.
