Macnamara, Thady Brian


War Service:
Pilot Officer THADY BRIAN MACNAMARA Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve was killed on 24 February 1942 while serving with 242 Squadron. On 12 November 1941 he had arrived in Malta with 35 other Hurricanes from 242 and 605 squadrons having flown off the carriers HMS Argus and HMS Ark Royal.

He is buried in the Protestant section of Cappucini Naval Cemetery in Malta

He is remembered on the memorial at Christ’s College, Blackheath.

He was 21. He was the son of Thady Macnamara and Cherrie Galsworthy Macnamara, of Appledore Heath, Kent.
