Private 32979 ALFRED LORD of 13th battalion East Lancashire Regiment died on 19 November 1918.
He is buried in Les Baraques Military cemetery, Sangatte. By the end of the war there were at least five hospitals in the area around Calais with a capacity of over 2,500 beds.

He was 42 years old, the son of George Lord, of Catford, and the late Ann Amelia Lord and husband of Flora Lord, of 17, Rojack Rd., Forest Hill.
