Flying Officer (Navigator) JOHN LOCKHART Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve died on 21 January 1944 while serving with 77 Squadron. He was 26.

On the 21 January 1944 77 Squadron lost 4 Halifax Bombers and 20 crew, 8 were taken prisioners of war in an operation to Magdeburg in Germany.

He is buried in the Berlin 1939-1945 War Cemetery.

He is remembered in the Brockley County School Book of Remembrance.

He was the son of Joseph and Constance Lockhart of Sydenham.
