Linge, Leon Elliot

Winter 1898 to 8 July 1917.

War Service:
Leon Elliot Linge, Pte G/2225 "D" Company 7th Battalion Queen's Own Royal West Kent. He had enlisted in Tonbridge in September 1914 aged 19 and died of gunshot wounds to the head on 8 July 1917, possibly at 90th Field Ambulance.

He is buried at Dickenbusch New Military Cemetery Extension.

Location of Memorial:
He is remembered in the Book of Remembrance at St Saviour's Church, Forest Hill.

Details:
He was born in the winter of 1898 in Forest Hill, son of Mr. L. Linge, of 13, Ackroyd Road, Honor Oak Park. He still lived in Forest Hill at the time of enlistment and his occupation was a stock exchange clerk.
