Lindsey, Henry Charles


War Service:
Stoker 1st Class HENRY CHARLES LINDSEY was killed on 7 June 1944 while serving on HM Assault Landing Craft 579 off the Normandy beachhead. LCAs displaced about 12 tons and carried 35 troops.

He is buried in Bayeux War Cemetery, Normandy

Location of Memorial:
He is also remembered on the Sydenham South Suburban Gas Works war memorial.

He was the son of Henry and Martha Lindsey of Bermondsey, and husband of Jessie Lindsey.
