War Service:
Rifleman 415193 GODFREY LEVY of the 9th Battalion the London Regiment (Queen Victoria's Rifles) died on 22 December 1917, aged 26.

He is buried in Roclincourt Military Cemetery Section I, Row F, Grave 26 near Arras.

Location of Memorial:
He is also remembered on the memorial at the South East London Synagogue New Cross and in the QVR roll of honour in the battalion HQ in Davies Street, W1. He is also on the memorial at St Olave's School, Orpington Kent

Details:
He was born 2 April 1896, the son of Samuel and Esther Levy, of Brockley and the nephew of Rev. Nehemiah Goldston the minister of the Synagogue. In the spring of 1917 he married Winifred Paynter of 23 Wellington Terrace, Falmouth.
