Private 28994 ARCHIBALD RICHARD LEESE of ‘E’ Company, 16th battalion, Canadian Infantry (Manitoba Regiment) was reported Missing in Action at Langemarck near Ypres on 18 May 1915. He enlisted in August 1914 in Quebec.

Previously reported dead through German sources, now for official purposes presumed to of died.

He has no known grave and is commemorated on the Canadian Memorial Vimy Ridge.

Location of Memorial:
He is remembered on the war memorial at St Dunstan’s College and in the pages of the History of The Old Dunstonian Rugby Football Club.

Details:
He was 29. He was the son of Ellen Annie Leese, of 49, Westminster Mansions, Little Smith St., Westminster, and the late Richard Leese. He was educated at the Stationers Company school in Hornsey and attended St Dunstan’s College, Catford from 1898 – 1903. He went to Canada in April 1909 and for the next five years farmed in various parts of British Columbia.
