Captain BRUCE HARRY LAXTON of 15th County of London (Bermondsey) Battalion Home Guard died on 12 February 1943, aged 23. He is believed to have been in command of an AA battery in Southwark Park. He had formerly served with the Royal Artillery but is believed to have been invalided out with diabetes.

He is buried in Brockley Cemetery where he is remembered on the CWGC Screen Wall.

He is remembered in the Brockley County School Book of Remembrance.

Details:
He was the son of Harry and Jeannie Laxton, of New Cross. In civilian life he had worked for the London Rubber Company and had been studying to be an actuary.
