Lansdale, William Morris

War Service:

Captain WILLIAM MORRIS LANSDALE, Royal Army Medical Corps was killed on 26 August 1918. He was attached to 5th Royal Berkshire Regiment as battalion Medical Officer. The war diary for 26 August reads: “Medical Officer Capt W.M. LANSDALE killed by shell at Batt. H.Q. previous evening”.

He is buried in Meaulte Military Cemetery near Albert.

He is remembered on the memorial at St Augustine’s Church, Grove Park.

Details:

He was 27 years old, the son of William and Kate Lansdale, of "Sunnydene," Grove Park, Lee.
