Langford, George Edmund

Dates: 1895-1919

War Service: George Edmund Langford enlisted on 6th July 1915 and served as a Bombardier in the Royal Field Artillery 39th Division Ammunition Column. His service number was 33729. He died of pneumonia on 23rd February 1919.

Location of Memorial: He is buried in Brockley cemetery, where his name is recorded on the screen wall listing those whose graves have no headstone. He is also remembered on the war memorial at St Paul's Church, Deptford.

Details:
George Edmund Langford was the son of Edmund Robert James and Mary Ann Langford He was born on 9th December 1895 and was baptised on the 7th March 1897 at St Paul's Church, Deptford. The family were living at 85 Douglas Street, Deptford.

In 1911 he was recorded living at 48 Warwick Street, Deptford with his parents and siblings, Arthur and Elsie May. He was employed as a spirit merchant clerk.
