Driver 940642 RICHARD JAMES LANE of ā€˜Dā€™ Battery, 48th Brigade, Royal Field Artillery died on 12 May 1917, aged 35.

He is buried in Duisans British Cemetery, Etrun near Arras.

He is remembered on the memorial at Lewisham United Reformed Church.

Details:
He was born in Lewisham in the summer of 1881, the son of Richard and Catherine Lane. He married Edith Grace Punt in Lewisham in the spring of 1904; they lived at 106, Effingham Road, Lee.
