Corporal 630999 GEORGE JAMES LAMBOURNE of 1/20th Battalion, London Regiment died on 29.9.1919 aged 27.

He was wounded on 30th September 1916 and evacuated to England where he spent the period from 7th November 1916 to 14th November 1917 in the 4th London General Hospital. Originally admitted for gunshot wounds to left arm, leg and back, he was later diagnosed with Pulmonary TB. He was discharged from the army on 14th November 1917. He was granted a pension in respect of both conditions.

He is buried in Hither Green cemetery.

He is remembered on the Roll of Honour at Brownhill Road Baptist Church, Catford..

Details:
It was only after local research that his details were added to the Commonwealth War Graves Commission database on 23 March 2011.
