Lake, Walter

Dates: 1878-1916

War Service: Walter Lake served as a Gunner in the Royal Garrison Artillery and his service number was 46027. He died of phthisis on 13th July 1916, aged 38.

Location of Memorial:He is buried in Brockley cemetery, where his name is recorded on the screen wall listing those whose graves have no headstone.

Details: Walter Lake was the son of John and Mary Ann Lake. His sister was Mrs M A Chapman of 74 Douglas Street, Deptford.

In 1891 he was recorded living at 62 New Street, Deptford with his parents, his brothers John and George, and his sisters, Sarah, Mary and Louisa.
