Able Seaman J/24585 SAMUEL ROBERT JONES died of pneumonia in Greenwich on 4 February 1919, aged 21. Prior to being taken ill he served on the torpedo boat destroyer HMS Ure. During his time in the navy he served at the Battle of Jutland.
Location of Memorial:
He is buried in Brockley Cemetery where his name is recorded on the screen wall listing those whose graves have no headstone.
Details:
He was the son of Ann Elizabeth Jones, of 72, Douglas Street, Deptford, London, and the late William Jones.
