Private W/130965 MARGARET JONES of the Auxiliary Territorial Service (ATS) died at 7 Ewelme Road, Forest Hill on 24 June 1944 when the road was hit by a V1 flying bomb.

Location of Memorial:
She is buried in Hither Green cemetery where her name is recorded on the screen wall listing those whose graves have no headstone.

Details:
She was the wife of Leslie Jones who she had married in the spring of 1944. Her mother May Florence Horton died in the same incident. Her 16 year old sister Joyce was injured and died later the same day at the South Eastern Hospital for Children.
