Private 54813 ALFRED JAMES JOHNSON of 13th battalion Somerset Light Infantry died on 1 December 1918 aged 40. The 13th (Home Service) battalion was formed at Wrentham in Suffolk on 27 April 1918.

He is buried in Wrentham cemetery.

Location of Memorial:
He is remembered on the Sydenham South Suburban Gas Works war memorial and the St Michael and All Angels Church War Memorial.

Details:
He was the son of George Johnson and husband of Elizabeth Johnson of 57, Porthcawe Rd., Lower Sydenham.
