Private 982 RICHARD JERRARD of the Essex Yeomanry attached to the 8th Squadron of the Machine Gun Corps (Cavalry) was killed in action on 21 August 1916, aged 26.

He is buried in Mesnil Communal cemetery extension, a few kilometres North of Albert.

Location of Memorial:
He is remembered on the memorial at St Stephen’s church Lewisham High Street.

Details:
He was the son of William and Claudine Mary Levers Jerrard, of "Fairview," Vicars Hill, Lewisham.
