Flight Sergeant (Air Bomber) CYRIL HENRY ROBERT JAMES Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve was killed on 31 December 1944 while serving with 218 Squadron. At 1114 on 30 December his Avro Lancaster 'HA-X' took off from RAF Chedburgh in Suffolk to bomb railway yards at Vohwinkel. The aircraft crashed near Solingen.

He is buried in Reichswald Forest War Cemetery, Germany.

He was 20. He was the son of Maurice and Mary James, of Catford.
